150 Gallon Mushroom Substrate Steamer

Based on a design by ERIC MYER, our substrate steamer is the easiest, most cost-effective solution on the market. Not intended for use with grain spawn.

A typical cycle will take 14-24 hours. Time is dependent on ambient temperature, substrate temperature, and heater wattage.  The 150 gallon model will accommodate almost 600 lbs of substrate. The 150 gallon drums is 51″ tall. The larger drum increases capacity but it can be more difficult to load and unload.

• New 16 gauge 150 gallon Sanitary stainless drum.
• Temperature & run time controller with heating element
• Insulated with Armaflex and jacketed with neoprene
• Vented lid with thermometer

• 2” ferrule with clamp for heating element
• ½” drain with stainless ball valve.

The included controller allows you to set the target temp and run time. It features a stainless steel enclosure, indicator lights, safety lockout, and temperature probe. The controller ensures accurate and repeatable results while minimizing electrical consumption and saving time. The controller requires 3 wire plus a ground wire; single phase 240v power. 240 volt single-phase service must include a ground and a neutral.

A 30 amp rated extension or power lead with a L14-30 connector is required to run the unit at 240 volts. They are readily available from Amazon or your local home improvement store. ** Orders shipped after 1/1/24 will no longer utilize the L14-30 plug. The controller will contain a cord grip with a 12 foot cord installed. You will need to install your plug or hard wire the power cord. If you are not confident in your ability to wire the controller, please seek out an electrician.
